I’m Jimmy, a London-based photographer, videographer, and the founder of A Dancer’s Lens. I’m also an ex-professional dancer!

I trained at Central School of Ballet and enjoyed an extensive dancing career performing with companies such as English National Ballet, Crystal Pite’s Kidd Pivot, Sergei Polunin’s company Polunin Ink, Semperoper Ballett, and New English Ballet Theatre, among others.

Photography has always been a passion of mine; merging the artists and precision of dance with equally creative and techincal camera and lighting skills.

My journey behind the camera began while I was dancing with The National Ballet of Ireland, where I also took on some marketing and Instagram management responsibilities.

Since then, I’ve had the privilege of photographing many renowned artists, including Alina Cojocaru and Juliano Nunez during rehearsals and performances at Sadler’s Wells, as well as working commercially New English Ballet Theatre, English National Ballet School, Polunin Ink, on dance product campaigns with Suffolk Pointe and Capezio, and photographing several dancers from The Royal Ballet and English National Ballet. I’ve also captured images of multiple Prix de Lausanne winners.

Today, I offer a variety of dance photography and video services, always with a focus on creating bespoke, tailored images.
